Our Story & Mission

They say that beauty comes at a price – and here at De Novo Salon we believe that the price should not be the environment. We strive to lead in our industry by making decisions that have less of an impact and are more eco-friendly. The beauty industry is estimated to contribute to roughly 120 billion units of waste as well as result in a loss of 18 million hectares of forest annually.

To do our part to make beauty more sustainable, we have opened our doors to become a Certified Green Circle Salon. Partnering with Green Circle Salons means that we recycle and repurpose all of our hair clippings, used foils, excess hair color, papers, plastic, and glass. Essentially all of our waste is being collected instead of thrown in the local trash, and this helps to prevent them from ending up in our local landfills and waterways.

Heather Ford

Heather is a born and raised Florida girl that has been a hairstylist for the last ten years. After initially pursuing hair school as a means to pay for college to become a teacher, she fell in love with the craft. She continuously stays up to date with the latest trends in order to provide her clients with the best service. Her specialties lie in color correction, curls, and hand-tied extensions. When she’s not behind her chair, you can find her gardening at home or canoeing through the springs.

Heather is so proud and excited about opening the doors to her first salon, and hope that her clients will love the way they feel. Not only for their gorgeous new hair but for also helping the environment. Go Green!

Darian Sara

One of Darian’s greatest passions in life is being a hairstylist. Ever since she was a young child, she was always playing with hair. In fact, she can’t remember a time where her hands weren’t in someone’s hair. It was that obsession that made her realize she was destined to be a hairstylist.

Darian’s been in the industry for five years as an assistant and behind the chair for two. She loves coloring hair and giving a fresh cut, but her favorite service to perform on clients are hair extensions. It is amazing for her to see just how much she can transform hair with no chemicals at all!

Stevie Rain

Stevie was always labeled as the creative in her family. Ever since being a young girl she would express her artistic side through performing until she was evenutally introduced to what has now become her new creative outlet: hair. She has been in the beauty industry now for 5 years assisting and working behind the chair. Specializing in lived-in color, blondes, and hand tied-extensions, Stevie fits in perfectly with De Novo family.

Nothing is more important to her than making sure her clients feel heard and beautiful when it comes to achieving their hairgoals. In her free time she enjoys playing in the sun, cooking and binge-watching Harry Potter for the 100th time. Allie Wunschel

Allie is a second-generation hairstylist, following in her mother’s footsteps. After pursuing college and working various jobs around Orlando, it became apparent that doing hair was her true calling. Allie always strives to be eco-friendly and soon realized how wasteful the beauty industry is. Making the conscious decision to become a part of the change she hopes to see in the world, it was a no-brainer to partner with a green, eco-friendly hair salon.
